Pre-Adoption Counselling
(Hosted by the Hope House as part of an Adoption Awareness Month)
Living with parents in a family is every child's right and India as a country is committed to enable every child who is deprived of a family to have one, through adoption which is recognized as a legitimate alternative to set up/ build a family under the provisions of Juvenile & Justice Act (JJAct) of India.
World over, month of November is observed as the "Adoption Awareness Month" and the Hope House is celebrating it by creating awareness on this alternative method to build a family by conducting pre-adoption counselling at no cost. Any prospective adoptive parent(s) can attend this workshop to get empowered.
Who should attend:

Those who are currently residing in India and intending to adopt a child and have not started the process yet
Who shouldn't attend:

Those who have already registered but have questions on adoption (there will be a separate workshop for them separately (kindly look out this page for details)

Those who live outside of India and intending to do intercountry adoption.

Resource Person:
Mr. Ruby Nakka will be leading all the three workshops. Currently he is working as the Director of the Hope House and himself an adoptive father of two girls. He is certified in child rights and child protection from National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCCD) in New Delhi. He has been counselling prospective adoptive parents for the past 20+ years.
Workshop dates: November 10th (English), November 17th (Tamil) and November 24th (Telugu)
Time: All day 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM
