Some day, it is our hope that The HOPE House should become a self-sustainable operation. A couple of years ago, we invested in one cow so that our children could have milk and other home-made milk products (ghee and curd etc) at no additional costs.
Last week, our cow gave birth to twin female calves (with identical forehead birthmarks) and with that, we have five female cows in total. Apart from this, we have invested in 11Kwh of solar power plant to reduce our power bills. We have planted number of fruit trees which have already started yielding.
Our next goal: Grow enough vegetables as much as our consumption is and to have a small chicken farm for eggs.
